The Five Principles
A beautifully styled bed doesn't need to be complicated. Here are the five rules we follow in every Beddie photoshoot.
1. Start with a Neutral Base
Your fitted sheet anchors everything. A neutral tone gives you freedom to play with colour in your quilt cover and pillowcases.
2. Mix Textures, Not Too Many Patterns
Pair a printed quilt cover with solid pillowcases (or vice versa). Two competing patterns rarely look intentional.
3. Layer with a Throw
A simple throw folded at the foot of the bed adds depth. Choose a complementary colour — not matching, complementary.
4. Pillows: Three is the Magic Number
Two sleeping pillows plus one decorative cushion. More than that and it looks like a pillow fort (charming, but not magazine-ready).
5. Leave It a Little Undone
The turn-back fold on the quilt, a slight wrinkle in the linen — perfection looks sterile. Lived-in looks intentional.
