How to Refresh your Mattress Naturally

Baking soda is one of the best defenses against stale and musty odours.

Pour 1 cup of baking soda into a jar, or plastic container with a lid.

Add 4 drops of essential oil – either lavender, eucalyptus or peppermint, cover the jar with the lid and then give it a really good shake to blend the essential oil in with the baking soda.

Next, find a strainer or sifter. If you can't find one, just sprinkle with your hands.

While standing next to your bed, pour a small amount of the baking soda mix into the strainer, then sprinkle it onto the mattress.

Repeat this until your whole mattress is covered.

Let the baking soda sit on the mattress for about 15 minutes, then vacuum the top and sides to remove all the baking soda.

Baking soda does not kill the dust mites, but a good vacuuming should remove most of them.

Essential oils are also a good deterrent for dust mites, with the added benefit of smelling lovely!

This is a great way to clean and freshen up your mattress without using

harmful chemicals, and get it ready for your Beddie sheets!.
